Landon C. Haynes and Tusculum College

    Landon Carter Haynes, affectionately known as "Daddy Haynes" in his later years, was a Tusculum College staple for over 70 years. Haynes came to Tusculum Academy when he was just 15, eventually graduating from Tusculum College at the age of 20. At the time of his graduation, he became part of the faculty at the college as the head of foreign languages. This started a 65-year teaching career at Tusculum College, a record recognized by Ripleys Believe it Not in 1942.
